Pet Microchipping is one of the most effective ways to make sure your pet can be identified if they are ever lost.
We recommend microchipping for all pets, whether they spend time outdoors or live primarily inside. The procedure is safe, quick, and causes very little discomfort — the tiny chip, about the size of a grain of rice, is placed just under the skin between your pet’s shoulder blades. Once implanted, it lasts for the lifetime of your pet. It’s the most reliable way to bring peace of mind and ensure your companion always has a way back home.
We still recommend keeping an ID tag on your pet’s collar, but a microchip provides added security. Most veterinary hospitals and shelters have scanners that can read a chip’s ID number using low-frequency radio waves. That number connects to the manufacturer’s database, allowing your contact information to be retrieved so you can be reached quickly.
